The Rosé Winner -M de Minuty Côtes de Provence

You might walk past this bottle in the shop or think of it as a simple, summery wine.

BUT

This beautiful bottle of rosé won against 16 other bottles in my latest blind wine tasting.

Let me tell you what happened.

36 people attended my blind wine-tasting party.

People paired up and brought a bottle of wine between them. I wrapped everyone's wine and input it into the app my husband and I created (more on that coming soon!). Each wine had a number written on it, to which it was allocated to.

People guessed the price and rated the wine out of 5.

A few things to cover before the results are discussed.

Everyone tasted each wine in any order they chose. I purposely stopped people from tasting wines in numerical order.

I think we can all agree that the drunker you get, the better the wines taste, and I want every wine to have a fair chance.

Everyone had the exact same glass and the option to wash it out between wines.

There was access to water between each tasting, if needed.

Another vital thing to mention is that no one used a spitoon.

Okay, let's get to the results...

Why this wine has impressed me

  • This wine was nowhere near the most expensive, there were 9 wines more expensive.

  • It went up against, red wine, white wine and even champagne and came out on it.

  • There was a full range of people tasting, from self confessed winos to wine beginners.

In the end, M de Minuty proves why Provence is the home of great rosé. It’s clean, light, and refreshing. There’s just enough fruit to keep it interesting, but it never feels heavy. If you want a bottle that's both elegant and easy, this is the one you'll love.
